Massage FAQs · Saratoga Springs, Utah
Clear answers before your session.
If you are new to massage—or simply new to this practice—this is the practical information you need to feel prepared.
Services & sessions
Choosing the care that fits.
Start with your goal, preferred pressure, and the amount of time you want. We can adjust the plan after a short conversation.
What services do you offer?+
I offer Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Hot Stone, Prenatal, and Custom Therapeutic Massage. Every session is adjusted around your goals, comfort, and how your body feels that day.
What are your rates for massage therapy sessions?+
Sessions are $85 for 60 minutes, $120 for 90 minutes, and $155 for 120 minutes.
Do you offer massage enhancements?+
Cupping, hot towels, and aromatherapy may be included when appropriate, either at your request or my recommendation. These are complimentary parts of the session, not separate paid add-ons. Aromatherapy is always optional.
What is the difference between the session lengths?+
A 60-minute session works well for a focused reset or one to two priorities. Ninety minutes gives us time for a fuller session plus focused work. A 120-minute session allows a slower pace and more complete attention when several areas need care.
Can massage support both relaxation and pain relief?+
Yes. Massage can support relaxation, ease muscle tension, and improve short-term comfort and movement. Results vary, and massage complements rather than replaces medical diagnosis or treatment.
How do I know which type of massage is right for me?+
Choose the service that sounds closest to your goal. We will talk before the session about pressure, focus areas, and what has or has not helped in the past. If you are unsure, Custom Therapeutic Massage is a practical starting point.
How often should I get a massage?+
There is no single schedule that fits everyone. Many clients choose every two to four weeks, while others come more or less often based on their goals, response, schedule, and budget.
Can I request specific areas to be focused on?+
Yes. Tell me what needs attention and what you want avoided. Your preferences and consent can change at any point during the session.
Are there any contraindications for massage therapy?+
Please reschedule if you have a fever or contagious illness. Tell me before your session about recent surgery or injury, open wounds, skin infection, unexplained swelling, a history or risk of blood clots, uncontrolled health conditions, or pregnancy. In some situations, clearance from your healthcare provider may be needed.
Do you offer gift certificates or packages?+
Yes. Gift certificates and session packages or memberships are available. Contact me if you need help choosing the right option.
Policies & payment
Straightforward details before you book.
Converge Bodywork is a private, appointment-only home practice. Julio is the sole therapist and works with one client at a time.
Do I need to make an appointment?+
Yes. Sessions are by appointment so the room and time can be prepared for one client at a time.
What is your cancellation and no-show policy?+
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments are charged the full scheduled session price.
Are gratuities accepted?+
Yes. Gratuity is optional and accepted, but it is never required.
What forms of payment do you accept?+
Cash and credit or debit cards are accepted.
Do you accept HSA or FSA cards?+
Yes. Please note that massage therapy is only HSA/FSA eligible with a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor. Check with your plan administrator to confirm eligibility before booking.
Do you accept insurance?+
No. Converge Bodywork does not accept or bill insurance directly.
Can I choose a male or female therapist?+
Julio is the sole therapist at Converge Bodywork and is male, so a different therapist is not available through this practice.
What measures do you take for hygiene and safety?+
Fresh linens and face-cradle covers are used for each client. The table and high-touch surfaces are cleaned between sessions, and I follow consistent hand hygiene. I reschedule when I am ill and ask clients to do the same when they may be contagious.
Your first visit
Know what to expect.
You do not need to know massage terminology or arrive with a perfect plan. A brief check-in gives us what we need to begin.
How should I prepare for my massage?+
Complete your intake form if one is sent in advance, arrive a few minutes early or on time, and avoid a heavy meal immediately before the appointment. Hydrate normally and share any medications, injuries, surgeries, or health conditions that may affect the session.
What should I expect during my first visit?+
We begin with a brief consultation about your health history, goals, pressure preferences, focus areas, and anything you want avoided. You will have privacy to undress to your comfort level, remain professionally draped, and can ask for changes at any time.
What should I wear?+
Arrive in comfortable clothing. You may undress only to your level of comfort, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Breast and genital areas are never massaged. You may pause or stop the session at any time.
What should I do after my massage?+
Return to normal activities as you feel comfortable, drink water normally, and choose rest or gentle movement based on how your body responds. Mild temporary soreness can happen after deeper work. Seek medical care for severe, unusual, or persistent symptoms.
